Jana Kramer is the first contestant on Dancing With the Stars to get injured this season.

Injuries are fairly common on Dancing With the Stars, especially among celebs who have had no formal dancing experience prior to the show. Such is the case for Kramer, who apparently tore some muscles in her rib cage in Monday's season premiere.

"I just pulled something and it continued to get worse," Kramer told E! News this week, adding that she "tweaked it again really bad" in her rehearsal with pro partner Gleb Savchenko Tuesday.

The injury was apparently bad enough that her doctor advised her not to dance.

"I went to the doctor and he said I had torn some muscles in my rib cage," she explained. "He's like, You should probably rest and not dance,' and I said, 'That's not an option, so what else can we do?'"

However, the young country singer isn't giving up on the dance competition. In fact, she's pressing forward and doing everything she can to stay in.

"I'm going to go in the morning and get shots and take steroids. I'm not going to not dance. I'm not giving up on this," she said.

Meanwhile, partner Savchenko admitted that he's worried about the injury. "It's one of the things...you have to be careful. The injury can hold you back, there's a lot of things in the choreography we cannot do."

As of now, Kramer and Savchenko are slated to dance the tango to "I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin DeGraw as part of TV themes week ("I Don't Wanna Be" was the theme to the WB drama One Tree Hill). "All my One Tree Hill-ers out there, this dance is for you!" Kramer said. "We're so excited."

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. This upcoming Tuesday will also feature a special episode, where the first celebrity will be eliminated from the competition.
