Mo'Nique, the comedienne who once made her large size a trademark of hers, has lost 80 lbs and declared that she feels amazing.

The 45-year-old star who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2010 for her role in Precious has been getting into shape. She changed her lifestyle with daily workouts to help get into better shape. She appeared on The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show on New York's Hot 97 FM, on May 13 to discuss how her husband Sidney Hicks prompted her to change her habits. She said she was a food junkie who ate everything.

"It made me say [to myself], 'OK sis, you got these babies. The twins [Jonathan and David] are 7, [stepson] Michael's 9, Shalon's 22.' And I want to meet their babies. So, I said, 'Let me stop being selfish, and eating everything," she said.

Mo'Nique said she currently weighed 218 pounds after "tipping 300" when she starred in sitcom The Parkers which aired on UPN from 1999 to 2004. She said her new goal was to be between 190 and 200. Nonetheless, she felt very happy with her frame.

"I am the best Mo'Nique I've ever been in my life right now," she said. "And I still have a ways to go. But I feel amazing."

Mo'Nique received an outpouring of support online over her physical transformation. She shared pictures of her new body on Twitter this week in a series of tweets. She also posted messages to her fans in order to encourage others who may be trying to lose weight but are not having much success. She stressed the importance of not taking any shortcuts when it came to achievigng a certain figure.

"We can always get a quick fix. However what will be the long term effects. Do it naturally, benefits...PRICELESS," she tweeted May 14.

Mo'Nique's change in attitude is a departure from the one she previously held and helped launch her career as a proud "big girl". In 2001's The Queens of Comedy, she ripped into "skinny bitches" and wrote the book Skinny Women Are Evil: Notes of a Big Girl in a Small-Minded World in 2004.
