He hasn't been the same since the Christmas Eve visit with Christian, and now, his grief over losing the son he believed was his own will lead Dylan (Steve Burton) to make a risky decision about his future on The Young and the Restless.

He was already feeling fragile after the reveal that Sully was really Christian, losing the boy to his actual father, Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Nick's visit on Christmas Eve only seemed to add to the problems he was facing. After Nick then later confirmed the visit was a one-time thing and Dylan still wouldn't have access to the boy on a regular basis, he finally seemed to snap and lose some of his grasp on reality.

Now, despite reservations that he can handle the job after the trauma he has dealt with, Dylan will insist he needs to go on a secret mission to Miami to hopefully take down a major drug lord once and for all, and will maintain that he is the one to take the job, forcing Christine (Lauralee Bell) to put aside her concerns and let him leave.

"Your plane ticket to Miami," she says in a preview clip for the Tuesday, Dec. 27 episode.

Dylan can't tell Sharon (Sharon Case) where he is going or what he will even be doing for his newest assignment which will take him out of town, and it won't take long for his wife to realize that he is taking on the risky assignment to cover up his grief over the situation.

However, when she expresses her concerns, Dylan will mistakenly believe she is suggesting he is too fragile to take on the job, and the two will wind up temporarily at odds with each other before she finally agrees to let him go-though she has a gut feeling things won't end as well as Dylan assures her they will.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
