Star Wars Rebels Season 3 had released two previews of Episode 13 and they gave viewers a glimpse of the dangerous new droid that was released by the Empire to track down the people who defy its writ in the galaxy.

The first video showed a new droid landing in the Atollon wasteland in an escape pod. It wanders for some time before locating the rebels and then moves back to their base. The second video had the droid in a programmed state that would allow it to activate its weapons system but only after infiltrating a rebel base. It transforms into a killing machine once the target is confirmed.

Well, the episode brought back the action back to Geonosis and reintroduced Saw Gerrera, who was leading the team, claims, Heavy. The ensemble episode was low on action and it was a contrast to the midseason trailer that teased some heavy drama.

However, it did well in terms of using the whole team. The start was great in both part 1 as well as 2 but at the end, both episodes sank, claims Den of Geek.

According to the website, the trailer had aroused hopes about the second half of Star Wars Rebels Season 3. Viewers expected to see the Alliance as the trailer had made it clear that the rebellion was growing.

The horror part of the episode came in when the team began searching the tunnels to figure out what happened to the Geonosian workers. It could have been quite a scary segment as the characters had no idea who had murdered Saw's squad.

However, all the tension was lost in the clutter of dialogues and the music made things worse. Though it was used for dramatic introductions and scares, it failed to create the desired impact. Another aspect that proved to be the undoing of the episode was the fact that the Genosian character also felt undeserved.

The second part of Ghosts of Geonosis appeared more like a dry action sequence with the Imperials trapping the rebels in the caves. The appearance of Star Destroyer did not strike much fear as it was ill-timed.

The next episode of Star Wars Rebels titled Trials of the Darksaber premieres on January 21.
