Fans of Eminem have been waiting for his next album with bated breath and though there is no official announcement of the release date as yet, it looks like the rapper will be out with the treat this year.

Eminem has talked about the new track on a radio show and now it has come out that he had tested Kendrick Lamar to ascertain if he used a ghostwriter. While rumors have been rife about the next album of Eminem for a long time, they have caught steam in the recent past and now, it is being said that 2017 could witness the release, reports Tripped Media.

According to the website, it has been four years since the rapper came up with an album. But since he made it clear in October 2016 that he is working on a new album, fans are curious to see it materializing in the current year.

Notably, Eminem uploaded an 8-minute video on Twitter telling his fans that they do not need to worry as he is working on an album. The video bore the title Campaign Speech and had the rapper rapping out on numerous controversial topics that included Donald Trump, Colin Kaepernick, Apple Watches, police violence and Trayvon Martin. The video went viral as soon as it released and boasts of more than 10 million hits.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Eminem had tested Kendrick Lamar to figure out if he had a ghostwriter, claims The Fader. The interesting story has come out courtesy Ed Sheeran who disclosed that Eminem invited Lamar to his studio as he had heard that Lamar was the best rapper. When Lamar reached the studio with his mates, Eminem told him that he just wanted him in the studio on his own and that his mates were not allowed.

He also made him write his verse for Love Game from the 2013 album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It is worth mentioning here that this also happens to be the last album of Eminem which received the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and saw guest appearances from Rihanna, Skylar Grey, Nate Ruess, and of course, Kendrick Lamar.
