Katy Perry has apologized to rapper Chief Keef after the two got into a Twitter feud that resulted in him threatening to assault her.

On Tuesday, Perry tweeted her thoughts on the rapper's new single, I Hate Being Sober. She wasn't impressed by what the Chicago based lyricist had to offer and felt it was a reflection on society.

"Just heard a new song on the radio called "I hate being sober" I now have serious doubt for the world," the California Gurls singer shared with her 36 million followers.

Perry's comment was retweeted almost 11,000 thousand times and was a favorite of more than 3,000 users. However, Perry's critique was not appreciated by the creator of the song. Keef went on to blast the pop superstar in a series of tweets.

"Dat b-tch Katy Perry Can Suck Skin Off Of my D-ck," he tweeted on Wednesday.

The 17-year old's response generated over 16,000 retweets but he was not yet done directing his ire at the Wide Awake crooner. He then threatened to cause physical harm to her.

"Ill Smack The Sh-t out her," he tweeted only seconds after his original tweet.

At 5:05 pm, Keef promised that "New Song Katy Perry Coming Soon" to his followers. Perry decided that she did not want to escalate their war of words further and offered an apology to the rapper on Thursday. She used her Twitter to share that she had no ill will intent towards him.

"Mr. Keef! I'm sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn't even know it was you in particular. Actually...," Perry tweeted.

Perry also wrote that she was a lover and not a hater. She complimented the teen on one of his songs and made clear that her frustration was born out of the behavior's attitudes toward drinking.

"I'm a fan of your "Don't Like" video tbh. I was really just having a general opinion on our generations desire to be constantly intoxicated," she tweeted.

Keef apparently accepted Perry's apology. He retweeted some of her comments on contrition early Friday morning.
