Britney Spears will be performing at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Sin City, with her residency confirmed for this fall.

"The [Vegas] performances won't be simple – they'll be a massive party from start to finish," Spears said in the recent issue of Shape magazine. "And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed.”

But many people are worried that her upcoming show in Vegas would prove too much for the singer, who was hospitalized and had a public breakdown in 2008.

“There is little chance that she can do actually do this. The stress of a daily public appearance and the physical nature of a show could overwhelm her for sure,” said a source on Friday, according to FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “As the show comes closer, she may start to fall apart. It’s definitely a concern.”

Fans are usually forgiving, but according to L.A-based television personality and celebrity psychotherapist, Stacy Kaiser, if the show doesn’t go well, it may mean trouble for the future of the resort.

Celine Dion’s performance several years ago brought fans to future shows at the resort. Bette Midler, on the other hand, fulfilled only the requirements of her initial contract, and was "the first Colosseum resident to have failed to sell out all or most of her shows or to want to extend her stay," Las Vegas Weekly reported in 2009.

Spears' 2009 tour, The Circus, was a huge success. It grossed $131.8 million and broke attendance records in many cities.

The singer is currently working on her eighth album, which will be produced by Will.i.am. More information regarding her concert will be provided by Caesars Entertainment in the near future.
