Jennifer Love-Hewitt, an actress known for having ample curves on her petite body frame, discussed her body image in a recent interview.

Love-Hewitt, 34, appears on the cover of the June 2013 issue of Women's Running and discussed embracing her curvy figure and what she does to stay in shape.

"I'm an actress, I live in L.A., I work in Hollywood," the star explained to the fitness magazine. "But I've learned that if you're too skinny, they'll say something about it. If you're not skinny enough, they'll say something about it," then added, "(so) I just try to feel good in my own skin as much as I can."

The Client List actress credits running on an incline, yoga and Pilates for helping her stay in shape and that running in a marathon for the first time was challenging but beneficial.

"The first time I did a big run was the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon Los Angeles [in 2010]. It was a blast -- I absolutely loved it. What you put your body through is incredible, how sore you are the next day is quite crazy.

"But the benefits of it, cardiovascular-wise, body-wise, toning-wise, all of that, there's nothing really that gets you in shape like [a race]," she added.

Love-Hewitt said she truly embraces her curves so she'll never end up with a  "runner's body."

"I do find that as a curvy girl, as I guess I've sort of been deemed, I don't think you want to run your curves off, because then you're just not yourself," she told the magazine.

She revealed one of the biggest benefits of running:  "It definitely helps your butt, that's for sure. It helps with the badonk-a-donk!" she joked.

The Party Of Five star said she was inspired to run by her mother Patricia who she lost to cancer in June, 2012.

"I enjoy running, but she was a runner," she said of her late mother. "She loved it and was able to go miles and miles and miles."

Love-Hewitt is currently dating her Client List co-star Brian Hallisay.
