Blake Shelton has admitted that time apart, jealousy and rumors have impacted his two year marriage to Miranda Lambert in the new issue of PEOPLE.

Shelton opened up to the magazine about the state of his marriage to his fellow country crooner. He said that there were no secrets between him and his wife. He added that his spouse was free to check his phone and go through it because that was the kind of trust they had.

"There are no secrets. [I'll say,] 'Go dig through my drawers or my computer if you feel like you need to.' And that's been a really good thing, because I don't want her to ever have any doubts," he said.

Shelton and Lambert celebrated their second anniversary on May 14. He surprised her days before by flying to Bakersfield, Calif., for an unannounced performance at Lambert's Pistol Annies show. It was another show of commitment for the pair who have been plagued by rumors of infidelity.

In February, it was reported that The Voice coached cheated on Lambert with one of the contestants on the show, Cady Groves. The Sure Be Cool If You Did singer slammed the rumors. Shelton and his 29-year-old wife decided to mock the allegations on Twitter.

"Hey, Miranda . . . I just read in a tabloid that our marriage is falling apart," he wrote Mar. 17.

Lambert replied that she couldn't wait to read if they made it or not. On April 5, Shelton appeared on CBS This Morning and embraced the tabloid fodder around his marriage. He said he loved it and would help him sell more albums.

"If I'm popular enough they want to put me and Miranda on that stuff -- that's awesome. I have an album coming out! Put my album right next to it and pick it up," he said.

Shelton and Lambert attended the ACM awards on April 7 and she spoke to Us Weekly about the status of their relationship. Many had begun to believe that their union was nearing an end and that Shelton would once again be a divorced man. The 36-year-old was previously married to his high school sweetheart Kaynette Williams when he and Lambert became involved.

"Divorce is not an option," she said.
