'American Horror Story' Season 3 Spoilers: Casting News for Second Male Character [VIDEO]
New reports are saying that a 40-year-old male is being cast for the third season of American Horror Story.
The already star-studded cast for American Horror Story's third season is extending and thus far the cast has featured predominantly women, with Evan Peters (who starred in the show's first two seasons) being the only male to sign on for season 3.
Producers are looking to cast for a character named Hank, who is described as being the 40-year-old husband of one of the show's female characters. He is scheduled to appear in six episodes of the season.
Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe are returning for season 3 after playing different characters in seasons 1 and 2, as well as Taissa Farmiga, who will return after not appearing in season 2.
Additionally, many high-profile actresses have signed on for the third season, including Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone. It was announced on May 22 that Emma Roberts has signed on to play Madison, a "self-involved party girl." Roberts will be starring alongside Peters, her real-life boyfriend.
Titled American Horror Story: Coven, the third edition in the anthology series is said to take place in New Orleans and involve witchcraft.
Not much else is known about the plot or characters of season 3. Even the main cast is unaware, such as Peters, who had an interview with GoldDerby.com on May 8:
"There is not much that I know, honestly. I'm excited," he said, "I think it's gonna be really scary, much scarier than last season, and it's gonna be fun. It's going to be really fun to shoot. I'm recharged and ready to go this round. We begin to shoot in, I think, July in New Orleans."
With this information, it can be speculated that many more details will come out in the coming months.
American Horror Story: Coven is expected to premiere in October 2013.
