"Chicago Fire" Season 5 has been consistent on one ground and that is to keep the Firehouse members together. In fact, this has been the theme of the series but this is going to change in the coming episode.

"Chicago Fire" Season 5 will be witnessing divide among characters and they will not be there for each other the way they have been all this while, Carter Matt reported. However, the divide will take place because of circumstances that are out of their control. The upcoming episode titled "Purgatory" will see Chief Anderson getting super bitter toward Boden.

This will result in the split of many members from Firehouse 51 and they will be reassigned various houses in Chicago. Boden will also challenge Anderson on the Tuesday episode of "Chicago Fire" Season 5 and the split will be an aftereffect of the confrontation. So, it is clear that some guest stars would be also featuring in the said episode.

As for the confrontation and split, executive producer Michael Brandt has already spoken about it, TVLine claims. In an interview, he said that the battle between Boden and Jimmy would get uglier in "Chicago Fire" Season 5. The latter feels that the former is responsible for the death of his brother. However, Boden believes that he did the right thing and neither gives in, taking things to the extreme.

Talking about Severide and Stella, he said that both have a good chemistry in "Chicago Fire" Season 5 and it is rare because Severide is kind of a cool cat. He admitted that they like the two together and will play with the duo but it is not permanent. Brandt also talked about Severide's new friend and revealed that both would become close pals in "Chicago Fire" Season 5.

However, this pal would also spell trouble as he has an inclination to make bad decisions. "Chicago Fire" Season 5 will also have Severide making decisions as to what he intends to do with his future. "Chicago Fire" Season 5 Episode 14 titled "Purgatory" airs on 21 February on NBC.
