"Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 may not be coming soon like what was reported earlier. Based on the stories, Viz Media released statements that supposedly hinted on the anime's premiere which will happen just a couple more months from now.

Fans have been anticipating "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 since last year, however it seems that the news of its release are false. Viz Media came forward to clear the misunderstandings about the series' air date so fans will not be upset.

It was reported that the Viz Media's senior director Kevin Hamric was only misquoted when he was recently interviewed by ICv2. During the talk, Hamric shared about their company's latest projects and their plans to release some volumes of manga.

He may have brought up "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 in one part of the interview but there was no mention about its release at all. In fact, Hamric only discussed the return of "One Punch Man" and the new season of "My Hero Academia." On top of this, he confirmed the streaming of "Death Note" movie on Netflix this summer.

Fans may have thought that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is included in the summer release schedules so this kind of news spread like wildfire. Now, Viz Media came forward to correct the error.

Speaking to Anime News Network, the entertainment company emphasized that Hamric was "misquoted" and relayed that there is no schedule for "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3, at least as of this time. Viz Media reiterated that only "My Hero Academia" is set to return in April.

While "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 has been missing in the anime world for quite a long time now, it still managed to maintain strong followers since its manga version is on-going. Meanwhile, it was not long ago when Viz Media was able to get the publishing rights for "Tokyo Ghoul: re," the sequel to the Japanese original manga series.
