Beau "Casper" Smart is still friends with Jennifer Lopez even after splitting last year.

Smart was at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City this past Tuesday where he spoke about his relationship with Lopez. Lopez started dating Smart, her former backup dancer, in 2011 and continued with an on-and-off relationship until 2016.

"Jennifer is, like, phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal," Smart admitted to Us Weekly, noting that they are still friends.

The dancer, who is now dipping his toe into acting with the upcoming ABC remake of Dirty Dancing, revealed that Lopez gave him advice on acting and creativity as a whole.

"She would absolutely give me advice when it came to acting, for sure. Coaching on certain auditions and stuff I had coming up or just advice," he said. "I would do creative direction for her shows and such, and I would bring my ideas and creativity to her world and to her music side and her performance side, and she would definitely help me with the acting side as far as the training facility more."

Lopez has been successfully balancing a music and acting career for years now, putting out albums while starring in such movies as Maid in Manhattan, Shall We Dance and lending her voice to the Ice Age film franchise. She is now starring in the NBC police drama Shades of Blue, which was just recently picked up for a third season.

On top of her already busy schedule, Lopez is a judge and executive producer on an upcoming NBC dance competition called World of Dance. She is also set to star in NBC's next live musical, Bye Bye Birdie Live! Lopez is currently dating professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, Smart will appear in ABC's Dirty Dancing on May 24.
