Justin Bieber teased about releasing a new single soon titled Heartbreaker, with the song's cover art posted on Instagram Monday.

Bieber wrote a series of messages on the social media website, and also on his Twitter page, to build up hype for the song. The art is also now the background on his Twitter account. It features a purple heart crumbling, with a Cupid icon shooting an arrow at it.

On Monday, he wrote about the song on Instagram, "coming soon," "tell a friend to tell a friend" and "Heartbreaker #Justinbiebernewsingle." He tweeted on Tuesday, "don't tell me your my...#heartbreaker." The 10 a.m. post was re-tweeted close to 36,700 times at time of publication. The hashtag "#heartbreaker" has also gone viral and Twitter accounts have already been created with the name.

The song could be the first single off his "music journal."

Bieber tweeted on May 28 that he has "been excited about the music." A day later his manager, Scooter Braun, tweeted, "Just got a tracklisting of the first #musicjournal. thanks @justinbieber."

A release date has not been set for the album, but Braun told MTV News in April that the Bieber has been working on the record since last year.

"I don't ever disclose what our plans are," Braun said, "but I will say this: He's been writing one to two songs a day for the entire tour, and he actually labels them by the city he writes them in."

"We started calling it his 'music journal,' and we're talking about what should come next musically," he added. "And I think, creatively, he just wants to share all his thoughts through music."

Bieber's last album was 2012's Believe. He re-released and re-worked some of its songs for 2013's Believe Acoustic, which had several new tracks as well. The singer is currently taking time off in between his Believe tour.
