The feud continues between two major British boy bands, as The Wanted's Jay McGuiness said his bandmate could win in a fight against One Direction's Zayn Malik.

In a recent interview with the United Kingdom's Mirror, McGuiness explained that the bands are still rivals, and said Max George could easily take out Malik if the two were ever to physically fight.

"We're not friends with One Direction. We don't hang out or anything," McGuiness said. "I reckon Max would win in a fight with Zayn. He's got good fighting skills and he doesn't bruise very easily. I've seen Max in action disagreeing with a taxi driver."

McGuiness said he does not think too much into the boy band feud, saying he prefers to stay away from controversy. He told the publication, "I don't worry about fighting with One Direction, I'm trying to keep a dignified silence, like the Queen.

"She says 'Never deny and never confirm.' "

One Direction has addressed the comments made against them in the past and they continue to defend themselves. Malik said earlier in June that he already offered George to a fight, but the latter backed out as soon as the offer was made. He said, "I asked him if he wants to fight. I've already said to him I'll fight him and he didn't want to."

Louis Tomlinson spoke to Metro and said, "It is such b******s because they will not live up to their word." He also told the newspaper that the feud is getting tiresome, adding a message for The Wanted: " I mean... grow up."

Malik added that when the band's first met on the set of The X Factor they got along well and The Wanted was "proper nice." Tomlinson said that One Direction in the beginning, "looked up to them."
