Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have been facing engagement rumors since they went public with their romance earlier this month but according to a new report, the couple is not engaged.

Days after Life & Style magazine shared a report in regard to Holmes and Foxx's romance, claiming that the pair is ready to take the next step after a "secret proposal," Gossip Cop has confirmed that the report is completely “false.”

“Katie has even worn her ring in front of friends, but she’s always denied it was an engagement ring,” Life & Style's supposed insider told the magazine. “Katie is thrilled that Jamie is ready to make things official. She’s wanted this for years.”

Holmes is “thrilled” that Foxx made “things official,” the rumored source added.

The report went on to claim that Holmes' former husband, Tom Cruise, was the reason behind their previously secretive relationship and alleged that Holmes had been banned from “publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce.”

However, as a friend of Foxx’s explained, the Life & Style report is 100 percent “false.”

According to another report, Holmes is happier than Foxx than she ever was with Cruise but has not plans to rush down the aisle.

“Katie Holmes feels much more equal to Jamie Foxx than she ever did with Tom Cruise,” a source close to Holmes told Hollywood Life. “He makes her feel like a grown woman. Jamie respects Katie’s opinion and her independence, and he would never dream of telling her what to do. She loves how Jamie keeps his private life private, and how he shuns the media spotlight. It fits with Katie’s sensibilities much more than the crazy, over-the-top life she shared with Tom."

“Katie and Jamie are deeply in love and committed to each other, but have no plans to get married — at least not yet,” the source added. “Katie’s done the whole marriage thing before and she’s in no rush to head down the aisle again. She’s very happy with their relationship, and how her life is now.”
