Icelandic singer Bjork performed a series of songs at the Bonnaroo music festival in Manchester, Tennessee on Saturday.

The singer, known for her avant garde music and eccentric clothing, took the stage to perform songs from her latest album, Biophilia among some of her greatest hits. Bjork performed Jóga, Hidden Place and Pagan Poetry.

Bjork appeared with a conglomeration of blue-tipped spiky filaments sprouting from her face and a shiny, billowing silver dress. Her performance was not broadcast on the big screens to give people further from the stage a closer look. Instead, the screens projected abstract imagery of volcanoes and vast landscapes to match the music.

Fuse described the full performance as alternating between "synchronized routines and tribal dancing chaos." She had a full choir of background singers wearing wigs and dressed in blue and gold robes. Fuse also noted that the effects of her performance couldn't be fully appreciated since it was in broad daylight, but things changed once dusk hit.

Performing Mutual Core, Bjork was able to get the crowd going through the song's rhapsodic style. Finally, the singer performed Nattura as her encore, a drum-heavy song that "elicited a stomping tribal dance of thousands." Though she did not interact with the Bonnaroo crowd much, she did thank them several times.

Bjork has not made many U.S. appearances but she has performed in California over the last few weeks. The singer gave performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles before Saturday's Bonnaroo performance. Her next date is in Japan at the end of the month, performing at the Fuji Rock Festival.

Bjork's next trip to America will be for the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 19.
