In the court documents filed by the actor, it was revealed that he cited irreconcilable differences as the main reason for their divorce. The Guardians of the Galaxy star has also asked the court to grant him joint custody of their 5-year-old son, Jack.

The Mom actress also filed her response in court and asked for joint custody of their only child. Faris and Chris signed a prenuptial agreement and are close to finalizing the division of their properties. The court documents also revealed that the two have been separated since July, but they only announced it publicly in August.

"Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed," said Chris and Faris in their joint statement.

Despite their decision to go their separate ways, Chris and Faris are amicable toward each other. Last month, the 40-year-old actress opened up about her ex-husband and said that they will always have each other's backs and will remain friends.

Anna Faris Weighs In On Fans' Reaction

The actress also weighed in on the reactions they received from their fans after they announced their separation.

"It's understandable that people seemed so invested in our happiness together. All I can say about that is, it's all true, that we truly adore each other, and we love each other, I think it still comes through," said Faris.

Meanwhile, the Scary Movie actress has never revealed the real reason for her divorce from Pratt. However, a source claimed that it was due to the fact that Pratt changed a lot throughout the course of their marriage.

"His fame changed their dynamic publicly and in private. Anna feels like she lost her voice throughout their marriage, like she lost her sense of self," said the source.

Faris also revealed during an interview that she has always struggled with confrontation. However, she never explained whether this was one of the problems she faced with Pratt.

"I can't stand confrontation, which maybe is a character flaw. But having said that, I do feel like when I get upset, which is rare as my husband and family would say, I have a hard time letting go," said the actress.
