The show's super trailer debuted yesterday, Dec. 18, 2017, and of course, the cast is bringing the heat and drama. Viewers are first greeted by rapper Trick Daddy who tells them that the parts of Miami people visit while on vacation are not the areas that represent the real "305." Known as one of the city's area codes the 305 is used in music or conversations to show pride for representing the Floridian city.
In the first clip, Trick Daddy is seen playing dominoes with a group of men who are grilling in someone's yard. As the camera zooms around, it shows one of the men wearing an ankle bracelet, revealing he is under house arrest for reasons unknown.
As the trailer progresses, Trina, known for her cult classic Da Baddest B---h, appears. She opens up about creating new music with Trick Daddy, who happens to be her brother-in-law. Sadly, when they are not producing music, Trina is caught in the middle of a heated divorce battle between her sister and the "I'm A Thug" rapper.
Trina's sister is ready to file papers so she can become a single woman again but Trick Daddy doesn't seem like he's quite ready to call it quits on their marriage.
Fans of the franchise are then introduced to Dominican songstress Amara La Negra who is ready to crossover to the mainstream American music. However, she's met with some pushback when a producer tells her she will need to change her look to get recognized in the industry. As Amara La Negra fights her way to the top and shares the battles she faces as an Afro-Latina, the super-trailer flashes forward, revealing a familiar face: Shay Johnson.
Johnson was known for her appearances on VH1's Flavor Of Love 2 and Charm School. She also appeared on Love And Hip Hop Atlanta, vying for rapper Scrappy's love and affection.
Unfortunately, at the time of their relationship, Scrappy still had feelings for his daughter's mother, Erica. Eventually Scrappy made his choice by proposing to Erica in front of Shay during the first Love And Hip Hop Atlanta reunion show. Despite the devastating rejection Shay faced, it appears she found a very special connection with Pleasure P, a member of the hit-making group Pretty Ricky. However, Pleasure P may pull a Scrappy on Shay by the looks of the trailer.
The trailer rounds up with Trina's male cousin wanting to make his big break in the music industry but being distracted by his cheating boyfriend who doesn't make an effort to keep his indiscretions to himself.
If all goes well and the artists produce new music, millennials will be reliving their high school and college years. Especially fraternity brothers who were known to stroll to their songs at parties.
