As America waited to find out who would be crowned the winner of season 4 of The Voice, viewers were treated to a host of guest performances.

The most highly anticipated of these guests was Cher. The last performer to hit the stage during Tuesday night's finale, Cher performed her new single Woman's World.

Performing live on television for the first time in a decade, Cher proved to be the worth the wait.

As laser lights flashed around the stage, the pop icon entered alone to massive applause by the audience. With a purple and blond hairdo echoed by her backup dancers, the 67-year-old singer performed like a far younger version of herself.

Woman's World is a single drawn from her upcoming album Closer to the Truth. The track went live for digital download on June 18 when it was performed on air.

As the judges sat silently in awe, fans were on their feet, hands in the air throughout the performance. When a final plume of smoke shot up and the last words rang out, the audience let out the loudest cheer of the night.

The award winning artist's new album, Closer to the Truth, will be released Sept. 24 and can be pre ordered now.
