Michael Graziadei is returning to The Young and the Restless as Daniel Romalotti Jr., Soaps In Depth reported Wednesday.

The publication said that Graziadei would be appearing in four episodes in the CBS soap opera. The first of the episodes will air on Tuesday, July 30. The actor last appeared on the show in January. He left the show after an eight-year run to pursue other opportunities.

Graziadei will appear in scenes with the exiting Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Jessica Collins (Avery Bailey Clark), Hunter King (Summer Newman), and Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher), Soap Opera Network exclusively reported Wednesday. Storyline details have not been provided but the impending departure of Stafford may be one explanation. Graziadei's character is the son of Stafford's and his return may facilitate her exit.

In 2012, Graziadei explained his decision to vacate his Emmy nominated role that he began playing in 2004. He was ready to experience life without the show being his top priority. He wanted to be able to travel and do his music without restriction.

"I just haven't really experienced L.A. not having a job. I don't know what else can happen in this town unless I take that time for myself and take that break for myself," Graziadei told TV Buzz.

He also told the interviewer that his leave from the show was not necessarily the last time he would be seen. Graziadei made clear that there were no hard feelings and he was open to a return.

"It's not like I put up my middle finger and said I'm outta here!" Graziadei said. "I may have done that at my bartending job when I left, but no, [this] was a sad parting, all around. It seems like they didn't want me to leave and at the same time, as much as I wanted to go, I didn't want to go. But life goes on."
