Sex and the City actress Kim Cattrall announces that her younger brother Christopher has been found dead after going missing last week.

Missing In Action

The actress, 61, posted on social media Sunday, Feb. 4, asking for assistance in finding her 55-year-old brother, who hasn't been seen since Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Christopher's front door was discovered unlocked, while a few of his essential belongings were left in the house including his keys, wallet, and cell phone.

"This is not like Chris," Cattrall says on Instagram. "He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his [seven] beloved dogs."

Along with her impassioned plea, the actress included details of her brother's appearance and his clothing the last time he was seen. She had hoped the public would be able to help the family locate Christopher safe and sound.

Christopher's step daughter, Katie Osmond, also took to social media to share photos in hopes of finding him.

Found Dead At 55

Just several hours Cattrall's social media post, Christopher was discovered deceased on his own property.

The actress took to social media to make the announcement and express her gratitude at her followers' support. She also asked for privacy during the family's mourning period.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of Alberta, who earlier made a statement saying that the police were looking for Christopher, revealed that Cattrall's missing brother was found dead at his property in Lacombe county in Alberta, Canada on Sunday morning.

"We don't believe there is anything suspicious about the circumstances," Laurel Scott, RCMP Alberta media relations officer, says. "We are not putting out any further information."

Cattrall Leaves 'Sex and the City'

Cattrall is most known for playing the sexually promiscuous Samantha Jones in the iconic Sex and the City television and film series. She received five Emmy nominations for the role.

While the franchise remains very popular, the actress has repeatedly expressed her unwillingness to return for a third film. Instead, Cattrall revealed the top three actresses she wants to take up the role of Samantha: Oprah, Sofia Vergara, and Tiffany Haddish.

While Cattrall is closing the door on Sex and the City, fans of the star can still catch her on television playing U.S. president Helen Tyler on the second season of Swedish crime drama Modus. The show premieres this month.
