The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, the lower priced version of the Samsung Galaxy S4, will hit the U.K. market on Monday, July 1.

The Galaxy S4 Mini was originally expected to launch in the U.K. on July 5 but according to some retailer websites, the phone will be available on July 1.

Retail costs of the Galaxy S4 Mini apparently vary, depending on the U.K. retailer. Phones4U.co.uk has a list price of € 419.95 ($643.36 U.S.) and ensures it will deliver the item on Monday, July 1. However, the cost is higher than the same site listed the Galaxy S III  last year, which was at £400 ($612.44 U.S.) and it is still currently listed at the price.

Unlocked Mobiles has the product available for shipping June 28 and delivery June 29, SIM-free, at £364.98 including taxes ($559.15 U.S.), while Handtec priced the handset at € 324.99 (€ 389.99 with VAT - $597.39 U.S.).  Both Unlocked Mobiles and Handtec promised to begin selling the next generation of the Galaxy Mini this weekend. EE offered customers who preorder the Galaxy S4 Mini a free Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

The next generation of the Galaxy Mini will come with a 4.3-inch qHD display at 960 x 540, 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It will run on a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a slower processor than the Galaxy S3 has. An added feature is an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

The new handset will come in two colors - black and white - and it will have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz as the user interface.

Retail prices are expected to drop as more companies begin stocking the Galaxy S4 Mini.
