The band fun. projects that their next album will be released in 2014, guitarist Jack Antonoff told Billboard.

As they begin the Most Night Summer Tour on July 6 in Toronto, Antonoff said that a follow-up to 2012's Grammy Award-winning Some Nights album will come in due time. He discussed what's coming up next for the band and how they will work on the next record.

"There's, like, hints of a game plan," he told the publication, cited in a Wednesday report. "The way we work is pretty spontaneous and pretty quick. [The album] Some Nights was written and recorded in a two-month time period, and I think that's one of the elements that made it successful as an album. It should be a documentation of a band in a moment, not a giant, three-year process."

Antonoff revealed that the process of recording the new album would be quick, saying he can "assume some time at the beginning of next year" that the band will be in the studio recording music. However, it is hard to plan because the right "feeling" has to hit them first.

"[It] all depends on when the feeling hits and when we have a concept that's worthy. Until we have the parameters of what the album really is it's hard to hone in on them and work specifically on it, and we're not there yet."

The 29-year-old guitarist, who is dating Girls star Lena Dunham, said that that the band's success with the Some Nights album will likely have an impact on the writing process for the next album. Some Nights catapulted fun. to worldwide success, selling over 1 million copies in the U.S. alone. The band won Best New Artist at the 2013 Grammys in addition to Song of the Year for We Are Young.

Fun. will be launching their new North American tour on July 6 with folk band Tegan & Sara. The 26-city tour will last through the summer before ending on Sept. 26. Antonoff said that the tour will be "equal parts victory lap and a bridge to the next record."
