The mystery of the famous coffee cup on "Game of Thrones" has been solved, thanks to "The Mother of Dragons" Emilia Clarke.

Clarke revealed the culprit, who she said admitted the crime while drunk.

The 33-year-old actress, who played the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the popular series, spilled the beans during her interview with Jimmy Fallon. According to Clarke, the culprit who left the coffee cup on the table at Winterfell was her co-star, Colenth Hill.

Clarke said they both attended an Emmys party, and the confession happened there. Hill reportedly drowned herself with alcohol and, while intoxicated, admitted to her crime.

"He said it. He might have been drunk, but he said it," reported by the actress behind Daenerys Targaryen's character.

The Scene of the Crime

The mystery cup appeared during the episode 4 of "Game of Thrones" Season 8, and fans made a needlessly thorough investigation to find the culprit behind the hilarious mistake.

The scene revealed the dining hall of a Medieval Castle where the inexplicable cup sat in front of the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. The scene caused hysterical comments from its viewers, with some saying that Winterfell purchased the coffee joint to have their queen taste the strong aroma of caffeine while "contemplating continental domination."

Fans started to investigate, and they discovered that Clarke was the possible culprit.

The actress was caught by a paparazzi last summer while holding a similar to-go coffee cup. What made the suspicion even funnier was when a fan posted a coffee cup with Clarke's lengthy character title written on it. But the photo and fanart were not enough to prove that the "Queen of Meereen and Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea" was the real culprit.

Fans-turned-into-investigators added evidence. In 2017, Clarke was interviewed by InStyle magazine and talked about how finding the perfect coffee was part of her "adulting process".

"Find out who you are, what you like, how you take your coffee, the people who make you feel good and who you should be around. You begin to see beyond what your face or body looks like," Clarke said.

After a few months, Clarke appears to want to clear her name and pointed to (possibly) the real culprit.

HBO removed the cup?

A few days after the appearance of the mystery coffee cup at Winterfell, HBO noiselessly edited the coffee cup out. This became an embarrassment for the HBO and GoT, but fans thanked them for the laughs the mistake caused.

"The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea," HBO said.

With Emilia Clarke's big revelation that Colenth Hill was the suspect, she could drink her cups again worry-free.
