Keanu Reeve's girlfriend Alexandra Grant surely knows how to spread awareness effectively on the internet.
Grant took to her Instagram to share awareness among women. The 46-year-old artist, who is also well-known for her natural gray hair, posted a screen capture of a Newsweek article regarding the health risk of using permanent hair dye.
As stated in the article with a headline "Breast Cancer Linked To Permanent Hair Dye And Chemical Hair Straighteners In Study Of Almost 50,000 Women," the International Journal of Cancer found out in a study that women who feed their hair with hair dyes regularly have a higher risk of breast cancer. Their researchers spotted the direct effects of the chemicals to breast carcinogens, and they confirmed it with the help of 46,709 tested women ages 35 to 74 years old.
The overwhelming number of affected hair dye users surprised her. She admitted that she already grew gray hair in her 20s and dyed it numerous times until she realized that the chemicals she was using only brought toxicity to her.
She raised the awareness and added a thoughtful reminder for all women: "I love and support that every womxn can choose how she wants to look at every age. But/and, if womxn are perishing from beauty standards... then let's talk about those beauty standards. Love to all womxn!"
View this post on InstagramWow. Today's news... The numbers are staggering, especially for womxn of color. I went gray prematurely in my early 20's... and dyed my hair every color along the way until I couldn't tolerate the toxicity of the dyes any more. In my 30's I let my hair turn "blonde"... I love and support that every womxn can choose how she wants to look at every age. But/and, if womxn are perishing from beauty standards... then let's talk about those beauty standards. Love to all womxn! A post shared by Alexandra Grant (@grantalexandra) on Dec 4, 2019 at 7:07pm PST
Grant is Keanu's Girlfriend After Decades of Being Alone
The news of Keanu Reeves finally dating someone broke the internet as soon as it came out in public.
The rumored girlfriend, Grant, is an award-winning visual artist who also became a business partner of the "John Wick" actor. They first collaborated and built the book "Ode to Happiness" in 2011 where Grant served as the illustrator and Reeves as the poetry writer.
They released the book's sequel entitled "Shadows," before they established their joint publishing house "X Artists' Books".
Aside from being an artist, she also uses her talent to help grassroots artists through her charity GrantLOVE.
Moreover, her works made it to well-known events and galleries including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Galerie Gradiva in Paris, and the Harris Lieberman Gallery in New York.
With all these achievements she gained throughout her lifetime, it did not surprise people when the ever-private Reeves posed with her on the red carpet for the first time in forever.
Press first spotted the 55-year-old star with Grant at the LACMA Art and Film Gala in Los Angeles.
A source exclusively told ET that the two had a good time with their friends Will Ferrell and Viveca Paulin.
"They were smiling and having a good time, and immediately after taking the photo, Will Ferrell spotted Keanu and rushed over to say hello, bringing with him a small group that included his wife, Viveca Paulin-Ferrell," the source stated.
Per People magazine's reports, Reeves and Grant only became a couple this year but wanted to keep it low-key. Despite that, the actor expressed his desire to share his life with the artist as he is happy to have her in his life.
Whatever the status of the relationship is right now, their fans are sure that they certainly make a good couple.
