Kim Kardashian Engaged? Kanye West Proposed To 'Keeping Up With Kardashians' After North West Birth, Says Source
Kanye West reportedly proposed to Kim Kardashian during a tender moment following the birth of their first child, North West, and the couple are considering an exotic wedding.
According to a report, West, 35, proposed to Kardashian, 32, as the couple peered at their newborn, according to an insider. The Watch The Throne rapper looked at his girlfriend of less than two years and asked her hand in marriage, a source reportedly told OK! Magazine. The report was published July 6.
''Kim and Kanye were talking to the baby when in mid-sentence he asked Kim to marry him. She started to cry and mouthed the word, 'Yes'," the insider reportedly told OK!.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is overjoyed and wants an exotic-themed wedding inspired by pop singer Katy Perry's 2012 nuptials to Russell Brand held in India.
''This time, she wants something different and exotic. She likes how Katy Perry and Russell Brand got married in India with an Indian-themed wedding," said the insider. "She wants that. Kim thinks she's the spitting image of Egyptian goddess Isis, so she has been talking about doing an Egyptian-themed wedding, at the pyramids."
According to the insider, West "digs the idea too." Although it wil cost them millions to fly their guests to Egypt, an insider said that "money is no object."
The couple were first rumored to be engaged a week after Kardashian gave birth to North West. She delivered her first child on June 15, several weeks ahead of her July date in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills Calif.
Britian's Mirror reported on June 24 that the Yeezus rapper proposed to his reality star girlfriend in the form of a "push present." A push present is when a man gives a gift after she gives birth to his child. The gift was reportedly a custom tiger-striped diamond ring.
On June 25, E! News reporter Ken Baker debunked the engagement rumor during an appearance on On Air With Ryan Seacrest.
"I hate to burst your bubble of bliss but no, he has not [proposed]," Ken shared with On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
"They are not married, they're not engaged. But they are very loving and happy parents. I feel like Kim is in no rush to get married," Baker explained.
"But I will say this, she and Kanye are as tight as you can get. They are very in love and enamored with each other and from what I'm hearing now, having the baby is only bringing them closer together," he added.
