"I had all these sounds in my head," lead singer Brendon Urie said in a statement Monday, referring to the new album. "I just had to figure out how to get them out. So I just kept writing, writing, and writing until eventually we had all these songs and I was like, 'This is it. This is the record I want to make.' I knew it would happen, and finally it's here."

The band also posted a message to fans on their website Monday. In the message, they describe how music took them out of Las Vegas and introduced them to millions of "amazing fans." They added that it gave them pride to be who they were and gave them courage to be unique. They urged fans to be proud of who they are, saying that the band would be returning to Las Vegas, ending with "Too weird to live, too rare to die!"
