Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston's Daughter, Engagement Upsets Father Bobby Brown [VIDEO]
Bobby Brown is not happy about his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown being engaged to Nick Gordon, he told TMZ recently when asked to comment on the couple's courtship.
When a photographer/reporter asked the lover of late singing icon Whitney Houston, "How excited are you for your daughter - she's about to get married and stuff?" he replied, "I'm not."
Aside from making it clear that he does not approve of the couple's engagement, Bobby revealed that Gordon never called him up to ask for Bobbi Kristina's hand in marriage.
In the end though, Bobby told the reporter, "I just want her to be happy."
Bobbi Kristina shared the news of her engagement on Facebook on July 10. She also posted photos on her Instagram account showing off her engagement ring.
"YES, we me nick are engaged," she wrote.
She tweeted that she celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with Gordon. One photo showed her and her fiance embracing on a boardwalk and she captioned the shot: "Yes... I'm MADLY in love with this phenomenal man @Nickdgordon, truly happier then ever."
The couple's romance was at first criticized because rumors circulated that they were siblings, meaning that Houston adopted him before she died. Gordon addressed the haters in a Twitter post written on July 10.
"No one nor nothing can bring us down or break us. We are young but we have been through it!!" he wrote. "Look we don't care about any of that negative ppl talk. When your love is like ours! We are in our own little world."
Gordon and Bobbi Kristina went public with their relationship shortly after her mother died on the eve of the Grammy Awards in February of 2012. Houston died on Feb. 11 of that year. She was found dead in her room at The Beverly Hilton. She was found face down in a water-filled bathtub with drug paraphernalia near by, and traces of cocaine and prescription medications were in her system.
