Scarlett Johansson stepped out with a new accessory - a diamond ring.

The big rock, which she wore on her left ring finger, sparked rumors on Wednesday that actress is engaged. However, a rep for the 28-year-old said that she's "not engaged nor close to being engaged," People reported Thursday. The magazine also quoted a source who explained that the ring is "simply a piece of jewelry" and a recent gift.

The Avengers star is currently dating Romain Dauriac, a French creative agency manager. The pair went public with their relationship in November 2012. Back in February, they were seen holding hands in New York City and the actress sported a rock on that same finger again. See photos here.

Still, the actress revealed that she's in no rush to tie the knot.

"It's really not important to me," she told U.K.'s Elle in February 2013. "The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, 'Would I get married again?'"

"I'm not having kids anytime soon," she added. "I'm in a nice relationship, I'm working a lot and, like I said, it's not important to me."

Johansson was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2010. The 36-year-old actor spoke about his difficult divorce from Johansson in the June 2011 issue of Details.

"Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it. I'm not out of it yet. At all," he said. "But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be? I don't think I want to get married again, but you always reevaluate these things. Any kind of crisis can be good. It wakes you up. I gotta say, I'm a different person than I was six months ago."

Despite his uncertainty at the time, Reynolds got married to Blake Lively in 2012 and the couple currently resides in New York.
