The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield gushed about his on- and off-screen girlfriend Emma Stone in a new interview with The Associated Press.

"She's a great gal, and, as we all know, a singular talent, like a completely unique, singular talent," Garfield said of Stone. The pair appeared together on The Amazing Spider-Man and recently finished production on the sequel.

"She just was born like a purebred, in terms of you just say 'go' and she goes," Garfield continued. "It's infuriating because I can't keep up with it. So it's beautiful to work with such an incredibly talented and wonderful person."

When asked if Garfield "took his work home" with him to Stone, he was very hesitant to reveal anything, only saying, "Well, you're assuming something there, which I will not be commenting about."

This isn't the first time Garfield has gushed over his girlfriend. He told TeenVogue that "it was like [he] woke up" when Stone first came in to screen-test for her Amazing Spider-Man role.

He also revealed that during filming, it was "wild and exciting. I couldn't help but try to stay with her, keep pace with her, and not let her get away."

Garfield also revealed to The Associated Press that the recent comments he made about wanting to see Spider-Man with a boyfriend were not meant to "batter an eyelid."

He explained, "What [Spider-Man creator] Stan Lee created is an Everyman for every man. Especially the underdog. And especially for those marginalized, for those ostracized." He concluded that no one felt more marginalized than gay young teenagers.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released in theaters nationwide on May 2, 2014. In addition to Garfield and Stone, it stars Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as Electro and Rhino, respectively, two villains that Spider-Man has to face.
