EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW With Anthony Fleming and Lucien Cambric of Newest Starz Series 'Power Book IV: Force' Talk Friends from Other Spin-Offs!
Power Book IV: Force is coming to Starz early in February. This new spin-off series of the Power Universe is filled with a slough of new challenges, new intrigue, and new characters. When the world of a show starts becoming so largely nuanced and intricate, it is only natural to pose one incredibly obvious question: would any of these characters be friends?
Through all of the different spin-off series of the Power Universe, due to the tireless work of the sensational Courtney Kemp, there are many characters who, while they live in the same universe, have never met each other. If they did meet, maybe they would be friends! We got an opportunity to sit down with Anthony Fleming and Lucien Cambric and talk with them about who they think their pair is from the Power Universe as a whole.
When asked, Cambric, who plays Darnell McDowell on the show, was the first to chime in with an iconic character from Power Book II: Ghost. "I think my character would be friends with Tariq. I think they would be friends. If they met in the right setting. They could either be great friends or great enemies." The division between friends and enemies is a fascinating one. Cambric went on to explain why he set this division. "They're both smart...my character's from the streets...it just depends on how they interact. They could be a great duo or they could be two great enemies. It depends on how they write it!" With that quick throw in of, "It depends how they write it," sets our sights on making this friendship a potential reality!
Fleming, who plays JP Gibbs, came in with a different answer, but he managed to keep it in the family. He answered, "I think Ghost. I think Ghost would be someone who...our worlds would intersect at some point, and I think he'd definitely be a brother who- we'd definitely be connected in some kind of way." These connections of friendship speak to the high stakes prospects we can expect to see in this newest spin-off series.
We can't wait to see what else Power Book IV: Force has in store. The show starts streaming on Starz on February 6th 2022.
