The brother's post reveals how heartbroken he is that his sibling has passed, especially with talks of Destinee "feeling alone" before passing.

"No no no I'm sorry bro," LaShaee's brother, Wayne Compton, wrote alongside photos of their family. "I accept you for who you are, I accept every flaw that come with you, I'm sorry you felt alone, I'm sorry you felt you had nobody else to turn too [sic], I'm sorry you felt you had no other option Destiny wouldn't of [sic] wanted this, lord why keep taking my siblings away, how much can I take.

The network added in a statement to People, "Our deepest sympathies go out to Destinee's family and loved ones at this difficult time."

While LaShaee's cause of death hasn't been confirmed, it was reported that a cryptic message on Destiny's Facebook page was posted on February 5. It read, (via People), "To Everyone Who Genuinely Love And Support Me I Love You And I'm Grateful To Have Touched Millions Of Lives And Hearts Around The World."

A check of Destinee's personal Instagram also featured eerie posts, one of which that read, "Dear God, My future is in Your Hands and I trust You."

The last final post is described as quite telling. It was shared on January 30, featuring Destinee in a glamorous  floor-length dress. Despite looking great, the caption told a different story about Destinee's true state. "Gracefully Broken," the caption read.

During her stint on Season 7, which aired in 2019, LaShanee became the show's first transgender contestant.

Matthew Ventress was also their given name.

During the show's first season, LaShanee weighed 669 pounds and lost 229 pounds through gastric sleeve surgery. After the show ended, they continued to live a healthy lifestyle and built a following on social media by sharing their weight reduction success stories.

When asked about their experiences with depression on camera, the reality star said that they had developed a self-medication strategy using food.

"I just lay here all day and wait for food. I don't see any of my family and friends, unless they come to see me," they said during a Season 7 episode. "I feel like all I'm constantly doing is trying to escape my depression and pain at this point. Food is the only thing I can turn to to do that. I can feel it killing me," she added.

LaShaee also said, "I need to be able to get help, I need to be able to lose this weight or they're going to be burying me next because I don't think I can live until next year being this big. At this rate, I give myself a couple months."
