Wendy Williams will never return to her hit talk show, "The Wendy Williams Show."

According to Radar Online, fans of the long-running program are in for a surprise as the show's producers are set to unleash a big bombshell - the announcement will be made that guest host Sherri Shepherd will be taking over as host from Wendy.

According to sources, the producers think they have sacrificed a significant amount of the struggling host of the previous several months in order to save face. Wendy hasn't been seen on the program since July 2021, although she was originally supposed to return for the season 13 launch in September, according to the official show website.

However, she contracted COVID and was hospitalized, as well as suffering from other medical difficulties that prevented her from returning.

After being postponed on many occasions, Wendy Williams' comeback to the show is now set to air on a new date.

But it was only towards the end of her absence that the fans discovered that the medical celebrity was coping with medical concerns, which is why the network decided to bring in some guest hosts each week to ensure that fans could continue watching.

Insiders revealed that Wendy Williams had willingly admitted herself into the hospital for a psychiatric checkup at the same time. However, she was released from the hospital a few days later and was later photographed being carried around in a wheelchair in New York City.

Sherri Shepherd To Be Host of 'The Wendy Williams Show' Permanently

Sherri Shepherd is said to be taking over "The Wendy Williams Show" on a permanent basis, according to reports.

Working behind the scenes on the program has allegedly been "wise and deliberate" in easing Sherri into her new job, according to a source.

In the words of an insider with insider knowledge of the production who spoke to The Sun, "Sherri needs to walk a fine line between being her own woman and honoring what Wendy has achieved."

"There will be no significant modifications to the show itself." They want things to be comfortable and familiar."

Additionally, it is rumored that Sherri would be reaching out to some of Wendy Williams' fans in order to invite them to be a part of the new era.

"There will be fan gatherings with Sherri, Zoom calls, and she will be FaceTime viewers," says the producer.

Sherri Shepherd and Leah Remini have been tipped as the frontrunners to take over Wendy's program since the ratings have increased when they have hosted instead of the original presenter.
