Bob Saget's brain injuries were allegedly serious before he died last month at a Florida hotel.

According to Dr. Anthony Harris, Chief Medical Director of HFit Health, the 65-year-old actor may have died as a result of injuries sustained while sliding in the restroom.

According to the autopsy, Saget had a cracked skull, indicating that he had blood on both sides of his brain.

"That suggests you had a substantial injury, not only to the skull but to the brain itself, which will impact the real function of the brain," the medical expert told The Sun.

An autopsy conducted earlier this month revealed that Bob Saget died as a result of an unintentional strike to the head and suffered an abrasion on his scalp, as well as a fracture at the base of his skull, fractures surrounding his eye sockets, and bleeding on his brain.

On January 9, his corpse was discovered at the Orlando Ritz-Carlton hotel, only hours after he had done a live stand-up gig.

As Harris pointed out, it would take a "considerable force" to fracture the thicker areas of the comedian's skull, such as the base of his head and around his eye sockets.

Based on the physics involved, he speculated that Saget could have experienced two falls.

"For example, he may have smacked the front of his head or slipped forward, causing orbital [eye socket] fractures in his skull."

"Then the recoil of the shock of striking his head may have caused him to fall backward, and then bang the back of his head on another item - let's say a bathtub or the floor - causing multiple brain damage," Harris explained.

"That would explain for both sorts of fractures that we're seeing with Mr. Saget," he continued.

Authorities believe Bob Saget may have banged his head on the headboard of his bed before losing consciousness and dying in his sleep, according to accounts that surfaced earlier this week.

While Harris believes it's plausible, he believes Saget experienced the head injuries elsewhere in his hotel room before going into bed in a daze.

When asked where he was most likely to have slid, Harris stated the restroom is a regular site for individuals to fall.

Saget's brain hemorrhage, according to Harris, led to bleeding and swelling over time, causing the brainstem's essential function to be destroyed, causing the body to shut down.

If someone had been with Bob Saget at the moment, he may have been rescued.

"It's terrible that he didn't have someone with him, because having someone to monitor or observe you for any change in cognition, brain function, or assisting to keep you awake is your best chance of life in terms of averting these sorts of consequences."
