Nicola Couglan was terrified that she was going to get fired from Bridgerton.

Yes, this is INSANE, we know.

For anyone who has seen Bridgerton, they can attest it would not be the same with Nicola Couglan as Pennelope Featherington. Her acting is compelling. Her character is charming. Her place in the Bridgerton world is irreplacable.

However, according to an article on People, when Couglan was first cast on the show, she legitimately believed it was too good to be true.

For anyone that has ever felt imposter syndrome, Couglan's concerns are about to be relatable as all heck. Upon recieving the prominent role in the series, she was not all excitement.

Couglan shared her thoughts in an interview with the New York Times.

"I should have been like, 'This is amazing...Instead, I was like, 'This is fishy. I don't know about this.'" This bought of imposter syndrome was coupled by the irregular reality of Hollywood. After all, Nicola has seen, "plenty of actors who were hired onto prestige projects and then fired when the studio demanded a bigger name."

She was so thrilled to get the role, that she quite literally couldnt believe it.

Nicola Couglan is an undesputed star. She is a global phenom, but her humilty powers through it all.

"In a weird way, I like I'm just getting started."

We, as her fans, can easily recognize this statement to be both true and false.

It is false in the sense that she is a well-known, powerhouse talent. She is no longer up-and-coming. She is here. It is true in the sense that we firmly believe her stardom will reach unheard of heights. We will be seeing a lot from Couglan for years to come.
