Guess we are getting another moment in the woods!

The New York City Center Encores! production of Stephen Sondheim's modern classic Into the Woods is making a move to Broadway and extending their run.

The show had a limited run at the NYCC location, but it is now moving to Broadway's St. James theatre. Tickets to the well-received production went on sale at 10 AM today, with theater fans forming an immediate queue on the online ticketing platform.

Stars from the original NYCC production including Sarah Bareilles, Gavin Creel, David Patrick Kelly, and several others are making the journey across the concrete jungle (or shall we say, the concrete woods?) and are making a new home in the new space.

However, as fans of the show know, "sometimes people leave you halfway through the woods." Neil Patrick Harris, who was playing the Baker and Heather Headleywho played the witch will not be returning for the Broadway production. Instead, Broadway legends Brian D'Arcy James and Patina Miller will be taking over the iconic roles.

Much like their initial plan at NYCC, the St. James run of the show is also, "just a moment. A peculiar passing moment!" The production will run for eight weeks beginning on the 28th of July.

While the run may be short, we remain confident that this well-loved show will be in and out of the city for years to come. Already, this NYCC production comes only seven short years after the Fiasco Theater company's Off-Broadway run of the show.

We can't wait to go to the woods!
