Full House actor Dave Coulier, usually known for being the fun uncle of sorts on the long-running TGIF sitcom, recalled a story recently in which he seemed to feel a twinge of guilt about involving the long-standing rumor about his time dating recording artist Alanis Morissette

While guesting on SiriusXM's Faction Talk on Tuesday, Coulier recounted the first time he came to the realization that the Morissette hit song You Oughta Know what about him, and his relationship with the singer back in 1992, when he was 33 and Morissette was only 18 - A rumor which has been swirling around for years without confirmation.

According to Coulier, he was driving through Detroit when the song began playing on the radio. Enjoying the ballad, the comedian suddenly recognized the voice as being that of his ex-girlfriend Alanis Morissette. He said,

"Ooh, oh, no! Oh, I can't be this guy!"

Deciding to delve deeper into whether or not it was, Coulier stopped into a store to buy the album, went back to his car, and confirmed his suspicion after listening to the entire album. He went on to tell the story of what was going through his head at that moment,

"There was a lot of familiar stuff in there that her and I had talked about. Like [in 'Right Through you'] 'your shake is like a fish.' I'd go, 'Hey, dead fish me,' and we'd do this dead fish handshake.

"And so I started listening to it and I thought, 'Ooh, I think I may have really hurt this woman.' And that was my first thought."

Alanis has been denying the rumor for as long as it has been floating around, however, and has since been on good terms with Coulier
