Joy Behar maybe 79 years old today, but she recently revealed that she almost died after suffering a medical condition back in the late 70s.

According to Page Six, the famed host recalled her life-and-death situation while discussing abortion bans in the United States in a recent episode of "The View."

The TV personality revealed that she had an ectopic pregnancy in 1979. The condition occurs when an embryo is growing in the fallopian tube.

She added that it could "grow just enough to make the tube burst [and] ... you bleed internally, and then you die."

Fortunately for Behar, she was taken to the hospital to get treated where the doctor told her she almost died.

"I was in the situation where I could go to Beth Israel Hospital, and they took care of it there," she added.

The 79-year-old host later clarified that her condition was not a miscarriage and abortion.

The recent revelation comes a week after Behar expressed her true feelings after getting fired from "The View" in 2013.

The TV star has been a host of the Emmy Award-winning program since 1997, but producers decided to remove her from the panel years ago.

In an interview with TIME Magazine, Behar said she was "glad to be fired" from the show as she was "sick of the show" at that point.

The host later clarified that she couldn't remember why she wanted to leave the show at the time.

The alleged reason why she's glad was discussed in a 2019 book by Ramin Setoodeh titled "Ladies Who Punch" where she previously noted that she was getting "bored."

As per the reason why she came back to the show, "The View's" ratings reportedly started to drop after she got fired and viewers wanted to watch her on television.

Executive producer Estey McLoughlin later brought Behar back to the panel.

"I just knew that we needed to get back into the cultural conversation. I knew [Behar] was going to be the person who could actually do that. She's always been the person who says what the audience is thinking but is afraid to say," McLoughlin said in a previous interview.

The host will remain with the show until 2025 based on her contract, but Behar didn't reveal whether she'll extend it after it expires years from now.

Aside from her, current hosts include Sara Haines, Whoopie Goldberg, and Fara Griffin.
