Zac Efron is now under fire after appearing in an ad campaign involving a bear.

The video features Efron and a captive bear in which the actor is enjoying the moment with the bear while raising a "peace" sign in the air.

Efron is a brand ambassador for Kodiak Cakes as they feature the shirt with a text in it that reads: "KEEP IT WILD."

While the Kodiak Cakes team says that their product is almost sold out, the PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Welfare,  Debbie Metzler is concerned about the ad campaign in which they want Efron to "come down to Earth" and acknowledge the fact that bears do not belong to the "screen" but to their families.

In the Facebook post of the PETA organization, they said that real conservation groups would  never exploit captive bears for their cause.

"Shame on you Vital Ground, Kodiak Cakes, Draplin Design Co. , and Zac Efron! Conservation starts with your actions. You're using a captive bred grizzly bear who was deprived of his mom and forced to perform tricks in your campaign to protect wild grizzly bear? What??? Animals are not ours to exploit for money or entertainment!"

Metzler added that  "How wrong is it to use a captive bear to promote 'keeping bears wild'?"

In the Instagram caption of the Kodiak Cakes in promoting their product it says that 100% of online profit goes to supporting the grizzly cause.

But PETA slams the cause saying that the collaboration between Vital Foundation, Kodiak Cakes and Efron "should be really keeping it wild."

A captive bear who's with the actor is named Tank, a 27 year old bear that was taken from a breeder when it was just 6 weeks old.

PETA strongly opposed the ad campaign and they want it to be taken down and they are also expecting Efron to take action with this since he is the brand ambassador.

Meanwhile, back in 2019, Dan Bilzerian was also slammed by the PETA organization after feeding a Kodiak bear at the house party.

PETA took legal actions with the incident claiming that Dan and the other man were not allowed to do such a thing since they did not secure a required permit in doing so since city regulations expressly prohibit keeping bears in a place that is prone to risk.

The PETA organization was founded in 1980 which aims to defend animals in any way possible with the simple principle that animals are "not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way."
