Richard Simmons made people wonder where he is now after years of a fruitful career as a fitness guru.

Years ago, Simmons took over the industry and the internet with his commendable way of promoting fitness. However, he seemingly stepped down from the spotlight as he has not been seen in the past years.

Amid the questions about his whereabouts, TMZ founder Harvey Levin told The Sun that the guru is still healthy and doing well. However, Simmons reportedly does not leave his house.

"We found out he likes going to the beach, he'll go shopping. There has not been a single paparazzi that has gotten anything of Richard Simmons out in public in more than eight years," Levin said.

Simmons disappeared in 2014 after decades of dominating the world. The fitness icon reportedly suffered a knee injury that kept him away from showing fitness tips again.

He also underwent surgery that needed more time to recover.

Through his management team, Simmons released a statement thanking everyone for their support and love.

At that time, he told his fans to "keep on sweating" on his behalf as he could not do what he loves to do anymore.

Although Richard Simmons is said to be alive and healthy, he sparked concerns in 2016.

Simmons shocked his fitness community when he announced the closure of his studio.

Rumors suggested that the fitness guru might have been facing health issues. But Simmons responded to it by saying in 2017 that he was alright.

"You will never know how much it means to me. Aren't you sick of hearing and reading about me?! LOL Well by now you know that I'm not 'missing,' just a little under the weather. I'm sure I will be feeling good and back home in a couple of days," he went on.

He also re-released his old exercise routines on his YouTube channel in 2020, encouraging his subscribers to exercise amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

Despite being away from the spotlight and camera, Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Richard Simmons' net worth is still around $20 million, thanks to his management company.

Fans will be able to see him again as FOX is scheduled to release a documentary to highlight where Richard Simmons is now.

"TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons?" will premiere on August 22.
