The Real Story Behind Cheryl Bradshaw, Rodney Alcala

According to Heavy, a bachelorette Cheryl Bradshaw joined "The Dating Game" in 1978 where three men competed to win her heart.

Little did the audience know, that one of the three competitors, Rodney Alcala, joined the show in the middle of his murder spree.

Before appearing on the famed dating program, the man had already murdered five victims. He also spent time behind bars for raping an 8-year-old child, making him a registered sex offender.

When they were filming the program, Alcala became a crowd favorite as he constantly crack jokes which made Bradshaw attracted to him.

Alcala ultimately won the title, but Bradshaw started feeling "ill" and felt that he was creepy so she never went out on a date with him.

Another contestant also felt the same thing as he felt off in the green room before they started the show.

"I am kind of bending toward the other guy to get away from him, and I don't know if I did that consciously. But thinking back on that, I probably did," he said. (via CNN)
