Norman Reedus revealed further details about the head injury he sustained on "The Walking Dead," explaining how it almost claimed his life instantly.

The cast members of the hit franchise, "The Walking Dead," went through ups and downs as they fought against zombies. But Reedus almost died while playing the character after sustaining a head injury in March.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor called the event as something horrible that made him fear about health.

"It was very serious. It was scary. I've been hit in the face and the head a million times. I've gone through car windows, but that one rang my bell," he said.

To check his status, he reportedly consulted a neurologist but went through a hard time due to the injury's effect on his equilibrium. Although he should have felt worried about himself, Reedus also got bothered by the thought that people suffered postponement of work because of him.

Fortunately, he was able to recover fast and return to film the series finale in March.

Deadline confirmed in a report that, on March 11, Reedus sustained a head injury while filming in Georgia. His spokesperson Jeffrey Chassen also confirmed the news, saying that the actor had a concussion but assured everything he was doing well.

The injury was worrying enough that he canceled his Fandemic Tour.

He eventually returned to work after taking a rest for a few days.

Norman Reedus' Eye "Popped Out"

Before the on-set accident, Reedus also had his "eye popped out" after a car accident in February 2005.

He was in Germany to receive a "Rising Star Award" during the Berlin Film Festival. R.E.M. lead singer, Michael Stipe, invited him to their concert.

But after a great night, he was hit by an 18-wheeler truck, causing him to fly through the windshield. He then found himself - especially his face - covered in glass.

The pieces injured him badly, including his eye. The event led him to undergo operations and procedures to put four screws in his nose and install a titanium eye socket. It also caused his face to look like "a hamburger" temporarily.

Years after the event, he told Wired that he had to wear sunglasses as his eyes were left sensitive after the event. He reportedly got more irritated with bright light and he always started to tear up.
