Amber Heard's agent once said that "Aquaman" franchise should have made a huge difference in her career - but it did not.

Among Heard's projects, "Aquaman" became the most successful one as the DC film managed to break records through its first installment.

However, CinemaBlend recently quoted the actress's agent, who said that the first "Aquaman" film did not make her more bankable.

According to Jessica Kovacevic, Heard failed to see a skyrocketing career although the film helped Jason Momoa and other cast members to land more roles.

"Because typically when you have an actor in a movie as successful as that, as Aquaman was, their career total changes... they're more bankable. With her, that did not happen," she said.

Several critics, including the website's Sean O'Connell, said that people were not actually interested to see Heard and her character, Mera.

Despite that, Heard was still able to score a role in the next installment.

Meanwhile, she is expected to suffer more as the public still does not want to see her in the film. For what it's worth, people have been petitioning for Heard's removal as Mera. They warned the studio they would boycott the film as a whole if the actress continues her journey in the franchise.

The change.org petition, Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2, currently has 4.6 million signatures. It is now less than two million away from its current 6 million goal.

Amber Heard Still Part of "Aquaman 2"

Before the confirmation of Heard's appearance on "Aquaman 2," buzzes emerged as they suggested that the actress was already removed from the franchise.

One of which was shared by Just Jared. According to the news outlet, the film ousted her after the recent test screenings. It even claimed that Nicole Kidman would replace her.

However, Heard and her representatives have since debunked the rumor.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the rep said the "inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane" report was not true at all. It added that Heard would now appear for about 20 to 25 minutes in the runtime from the original 10 minutes appearance.

Meanwhile, Heard said she fought hard to hold the role and managed to receive the official script.

The studio scheduled "Aquaman 2," officially titled "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom," to be released on Mar. 17, 2023.
