Amidst the controversy surrounding "Don't Worry Darling", stars Florence Pugh and Chris Pine reveal the real reason for their absence from a New York City film event.

Florence Pugh portrays the lead role of Alice Chambers, while Chris Pine plays Frank in the upcoming psychological thriller film, "Don't Worry Darling". The film, directed by Olivia Wilde, recently premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. Wilde is also set to star in a supporting role in the film.

As the hype for the upcoming film gets higher, fans and critics continue to fuel the drama surrounding the film, including an alleged feud between director Olivia Wilde and lead star Florence Pugh. The rumor had recently intensified following Florence Pugh and Chris Pine's absence from the "Don't Worry Darling" New York City premiere on September 19, which featured a question and answer segment for the film.

However, a video message from Florence and Chris that was screened before the premiere set the record straight on their absence from the film event. The pair shared their virtual gratitude towards the audience and their apologies due to scheduling conflicts.

"Even though I'm working halfway around the world," Florence explained, with Chris adding, "and I'm all the way in Los Angeles in production myself." to which Florence stated, "We did not want to miss this opportunity to thank you for coming to experience Don't Worry Darling in IMAX."

Florence Pugh is currently busy filming a separate project, "Dune: Part 2" in Budapest, Hungary. Meanwhile, Chris Pine is working on an unnamed movie in Los Angeles, California.

Olivia and Florence's Drama Debunked

On the growing controversy centered on the film, Olivia had spoken out about the "endless tabloid gossip" when asked about her alleged feud with actress Florence Pugh. The 38-year-old director slammed back against rumors in a recent statement.

"As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself," Wilde stated. "I don't feel the need to contribute. It's sufficiently well nourished."
