Shiloh Jolie-Pitt maintains her ties with both of her parents amid their legal battle following their separation.

Shiloh, 17, was thrust into the spotlight from her birth and up until today due to her parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's global popularity. The exes share five other children -- Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Although the kids were divided amid their parents' divorce, Shiloh chose not to take sides despite feeling "caught in the middle of this tug-of-war" as Pitt and Jolie's legal battle over their French winery Château Miraval continued.

"She chose not to take sides," an anonymous source told Life & Style, adding that she does not favor either of her parents, unlike her siblings. "She saw both points of view without judging either harshly."

In a separate report from the same outlet, an insider claimed that Shiloh yearned for her family to be "whole and happy." So, she wanted Pitt and Jolie to be amicable.

"Maddox has clearly sided with Angelina, but Shiloh just wants her family to be whole and happy again," the source said. "[Shiloh] loves both her parents, and while she understands things will always be different, her dream is to see them become friends."

Sources who spoke with Life & Style also praised Shiloh, who will turn 18 next month, for her intelligence. One insider attributed her talents and skills to her parents.

"Shiloh blows people away with how smart she is," an insider said. "She knows a ton about art and architecture from her dad and is versed in humanitarian issues thanks to her mom."

Additionally, Pitt and Jolie's eldest biological child is reportedly "the most down-to-earth teenager you'll ever meet." Despite being a child of a former A-list couple in Hollywood, Shiloh is "humble" and "wise beyond her years."

"A lot of that credit goes to Brad and Angie. They tried to give her a normal childhood and make sure she felt protected," the source added.

Meanwhile, Shiloh's wish for her parents to be amicable is seemingly unlikely to happen anytime soon as their legal battle has continued to heat up. Jolie doubled down in her claims of abuse against her ex-husband in her new filing earlier this week. She alleged that there were more instances of abuse aside from their altercation on the plane in 2016 that led to their separation.

Pitt fired back at his ex-wife by demanding that she disclose her other NDAs with third parties, including her assistant. The "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" star reportedly wanted to know if Jolie gagged her staff.
