Nicola Peltz explained why she missed her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham's birthday party.

The Spice Girls member turned 50 on April 17. She marked her milestone birthday with a lavish celebration at the swanky private members club Oswald's in London on Saturday. She celebrated it with her husband, David Beckham, and their kids Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12.

However, Brooklyn's wife, Peltz, was noticeably missing at the event. The "Transformers" star explained why she skipped the celebration in a post on her Instagram Stories on the same day.

Peltz shared a snap of herself hugging her grandmother. The elder was her maid of honor when she tied the knot with Brooklyn in 2022.

"My world in my arms," Peltz captioned the snap, per Page Six.

In a subsequent post, she shared a snap of the Beckham family from the celebration. In the caption, the "Lola" star said she was "so sad" to miss the event and sent her love to her mother-in-law.

"Happy Birthday to my beautiful MIL @victoriabeckham. I'm so sad I'm not there to celebrate you and hug you! Sending all my love from me and naunni. I miss you all so much," Peltz wrote.

She also shared a snap of herself with Victoria on Instagram. In the snap, she was all smiles with one arm around her mother-in-law's shoulder.

Peltz skipping Victoria's birthday came nearly two years after their alleged feud. Just months after Brooklyn and Peltz exchanged vows, there were rumors that the latter and her mother-in-law were in a cold war in the run-up to her wedding to Victoria's eldest child.

"They can't stand each other and don't talk," an unnamed source told Page Six at the time. "The build-up to the wedding was horrendous."

Peltz allegedly didn't want Brooklyn's mom "to be any part of the [wedding] planning, and she wouldn't clue Victoria in on anything." She also allegedly gave Victoria the cold shoulder, leading to a rift between the Beckhams and Brooklyn.

When she graced the Tatler magazine cover in August 2022, many also speculated that she took a swipe at her in-laws when she mentioned that before Brooklyn found his footing as a chef, he felt "a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn't love it."

Initially, Brooklyn wanted to be a professional soccer player like his dad, David. However, he shifted to fashion photography and modeling before he eventually landed his Facebook Watch series "Cookin' With Brooklyn."

"I watch him call my dad and say, 'What do you think about this?' I love watching him learn from my dad," Peltz said in the interview.

At about the same time, Brooklyn graced the cover of Variety's "Power of Young Hollywood" issue, and Peltz joined him. The actress shut down the rumors about her alleged feud with Victoria and explained that it stemmed from her wedding dress. Peltz walked down the aisle wearing a Valentino couture instead of her mother-in-law's design.

"I was going to, and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress," Peltz explained to Variety. "She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that."
