Melania Trump is rarely seen in public, prompting some to wonder where she is and resulting in various speculations about the former first lady's whereabouts.

Donald Trump has been facing the hush money trial against him for weeks sans his wife. They were last seen together at their son Barron's graduation. However, due to the ex-FLOTUS' rare public appearances, many began to ask: "Where is Melania?"

The question sparked discussions about Melania's whereabouts online. According to Mirror, wild conspiracy theories are attempting to explain her long absence, and they are as follows:

Melania is a Russian Spy

One of the most bizarre theories was the suggestion that Melania could be a Russian spy. This reportedly started after she was spotted chatting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a dinner for the 2017 G-20 Summit.

Melania was born in Slovenia, which was part of communist Yugoslavia. She was raised there before she moved to New York in 1996 when she was 26.

Melania is replaced by a robot

For years, there had been rumors that the woman who sometimes appeared alongside the former president was a body double. This theory took it to another level by alleging that Melania was replaced by a robot.

"Melania Trump was replaced by a very lifelike robot 14 years ago the only giveaway from this remarkable machine is the cold, dead eyes," one netizen previously tweeted, per Mirror.

Another suggested that Melania "died on election night 2016 and was replaced by a Russian robot." A similar plot was featured in the premiere episode of the second season of the comedy series "Tracey Breaks the News."

In the clip, three staffers visited Melania, and one said they had to place a logic bypass chip on her to make her work better. After placing the chip, the staffer with glasses asked, "Melania-bot, what are immigrants?"

"Bad people," Melania replied.

"And what are you?" the staffer asked again. Melania replied, "An immigrant."

Melania Has a Body Double

Another popular theory suggested that Melania might have a body double. The rumors started in October 2017 when she visited a Secret Service training center with her husband. There were allegations that she didn't want to attend events and travel with Trump, so the woman he was with in Maryland was allegedly a female Secret Service agent.

Actress and comedian Andrea Wagner Barton fueled the rumors when she took to Facebook and shared several photos and a clip from the outing. She claimed that Trump's companion was not his wife, Melania, but a "decoy."

"Will the real Melania please stand up? Is it me, or during his speech today, a decoy 'stood in' for Melania?? And....Why would the m***n say 'my wife, Melania, who happens to be right here...' Seriously, watch very closely! @prettyfunnymom," she wrote at the time.

Trump denied having Melania stand-ins with him on his outings when the issue resurfaced in 2019 following his visit to Alabama. The ex-POTUS even called those who believed the rumors "deranged."

"The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania then propelled conspiracy theories that it's actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places. They are only getting more deranged with time!" Trump wrote on X.
