One Direction's Best Song Ever won the award for Best Song of the Summer at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday.

Best Song Ever won the award against similarly popular songs We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I., Get Lucky by Daft Punk and Pharrell, Come & Get It by Selena Gomez and I Need Your Love by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding.

"Wow," said band member Harry Styles, accepting the award. "I want to say a massive, massive thank you to all of our fans. We know this was a voted award so thank you so, so much. It means a lot to us."

"What Harry said!" Louis Tomlinson joked in response to Styles' comments.

"You can't believe the things our fans have done for us over the past three years so thank you so, so much." Liam Payne added. "This one's for you guys, thanks everybody."

Best Song Ever is the latest single by the massively popular boy band. The song hit no. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the video for the song has over 80 million views since its release on July 22.
