Bruno Mars' Locked Out of Heaven won the award for Best Male Video at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday.

Locked Out of Heaven won the award for Best Male Video against Mirrors by Justin Timberlake, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I., Lego House by Ed Sheeran and Swimming Pools (Drank) by Kendrick Lamar.

"Yeah!" Mars exclaimed, as he won the award. "Thank you so much. This is my first Moon Man y'all," referring to the award.

"I want to thank my band, Cameron Duddy, my partner in crime when it comes to these videos," Mars continued. "I want to my manager Brandon Creed, everybody at Atlantic Records, all the fans who voted, I love y'all. Thank you guys so much!"

Locked Out of Heaven is the Mars' first single off his second studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox. The song hit no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks and the video for the song has over 185 million views since its release last October. The video is a throwback to the '70s with a low quality camera and features Mars and his friends having a good time while singing the song.
